Why do Blueair filters, trap six times more dirt than filters in typical air purifiers?
The reason is the filter's progressive structure. Most other filters are thinner and usually consist of the same size fibre throughout. Blue air filters have millions of ultra thin fibres in three different sizes.
Thus, the name progressive.
• First Layer - Larger particles such as dust and pollen are strained in the initial layer consisting of larger fibres.
Here, particles are stopped by direct collision with the fibre. Inertia also takes place here.
This means the heavier particles do not follow the airflow pattern around the fibre, but instead collide directly with it.
• Second Layer - This layer consists of a finer fibre material that collects smaller particles such as bacteria and allergens.
This filter intercepts what the first layer missed.
• Third Layer - Here, small particles such as viruses, smoke, carbon and exhaust particles from cars and trucks are filtered out.
This layer consists of thin fibres, down to 0.5 micron.
Particles come into this layer with a negative charge and easily and smoothly stick to the fibres.
The filter design resists loading or clogging and continues filtration at peak performance levels longer.
Because air flows more easily through the filters, it cleans larger volumes of air with far less noise.
Thus, the name HEPASilent™.
